Introduction Over the past few years, I've noticed that the Christmas cards we've received include pictures of pets along with the family. Actually, some cards feature only pets. Sometimes an announcement of a new birth arrives in the mail, along with an announcement of a new pet addition to the family. The distinction between human children and pet-children has blurred. This is a good thing, I think. I have never seen a picture of a family, with their pets included, who didn't have a smile that went straight from the eyes to the soul.
